about
"Waves" is the first single off of the LP "Tu Me Manques". The cover artwork is the Japanese kanji for the word "wave", pronounced "nami"
Shuji cover art by Rachel Attebery
"With her band The Fifth Element, Andie recorded an album that meditates on love, distance, independence and personal growth, and the dreamlike "Waves" touches on a duality of emotion and identity. Andie sings in English and Japanese in tribute to her mother, and though some lyrics seem to describe a fading past, posing the question "Do you not remember anymore?" in Japanese, the English refrain describes a permanent connection, despite barriers: "Forever in the tide / You and I collide / Oh, porous is my mind."

lyrics
You lie onto your side,
I look but I can only see one of your eyes
& the trees are listening to the way we laugh
Again back & forth
In the end
Forever in the tide
You & I collide
Oh porous is my mind
何があったの?
貴方の心
もう覚えてないの?
一緒に過ごした時間を
森に行こうよ
一緒に森林浴しおうよ
そうしたら昔の事を思い出してくれるかな。
もう覚えてないの?
もう覚えてないの?
もう覚えてないの?
もう覚えてないの?
Forever in the tide
You & I collide
Oh porous is my mind
You & I...
